ICAC investigates former Canterbury-Bankstown Council employee and contractor for alleged corrupt contracts in Operation Mantis.

The NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) is investigating former Canterbury-Bankstown Council employee Benjamin Webb and contractor Pietro Cossu over alleged corrupt contracts. ICAC will hold a public inquiry from June 3, examining whether the pair used a company for recruitment services without disclosing their interests and whether they improperly influenced the council to enter into contracts for personal or other benefit. The investigation, called Operation Mantis, covers a period from May 2020 to December 2022.
