Federal Court denies former AG Mohamed Apandi Ali's leave to appeal against Court of Appeal's dismissal of his RM10m defamation lawsuit against Lim Kit Siang.

Former Attorney-General Mohamed Apandi Ali's application for leave to proceed with his appeal against the Court of Appeal's dismissal of his RM10 million defamation lawsuit against DAP's Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang was denied by the Federal Court. The panel of three judges, led by Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat, ruled that it wasn't a proper case for the court to grant leave. The court also ordered Apandi to pay RM30,000 in costs.
