DFDS plans to invest €1 billion in six battery electric ships for the English Channel, aiming to deploy them on Dunkirk-Dover and Calais-Dover routes between the UK and EU. First two electric vessels will be operational by 2030, with the rest following by 2035. This move is expected to decarbonize cross-Channel transport and accelerate the transition to a greener future for the shipping industry.
