Defence Minister Judith Collins will travel to the UK and Italy, meeting with her defence counterparts and attending the Battles of Cassino commemorations for the 80th anniversary. The commemorations honor the 2176 New Zealanders killed and 6700 wounded during the Italian Campaign in WWII. While in Italy, she will meet Sir Robert 'Bom' Gillies, the last surviving member of the 28 (Maori) Battalion.
