Phoenix Mercury's All-Star center Brittney Griner will miss the beginning of the WNBA season due to a fractured toe in her left foot. Griner's injury, announced a day before the WNBA season start, will cause her to be "out and re-evaluated in the coming weeks." Griner, an eight-time All-Star, led the Mercury in points, rebounds, and blocks last season, averaging 17.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game.
