Justin Laurens Stein is on trial for the murder of 9-year-old Charlise Mutten, whose body was found with gunshot wounds in a barrel near the Colo River in January 2022. Stein has pleaded not guilty and claims Charlise's mother, Kallista Mutten, shot the girl rather than him. Stein was in a relationship with Kallista at the time of the alleged murder. The trial began in the NSW Supreme Court on Monday.
