Suspect jumps into Connecticut River after ramming police cruiser, is rescued by Air Wing.
Police rescued a suspect who tried to evade arrest by jumping into the Connecticut River after ramming a state police trooper's cruiser in Holyoke. The suspect was stopped for routine violations, reversed into the cruiser, and fled, with his car later found abandoned near St. Kolbe Drive. The Mass. State Police Air Wing found him along the riverbank, injured and struggling in the water, and performed a rescue, taking him to the hospital for treatment.
