In Q1 2023, Toyota overtook Hyundai as the global hydrogen car sales leader, selling 868 units (36.4%) compared to Hyundai's 691 units (29%). The decline in hydrogen car sales resulted in a 36.4% drop in global FCEV sales to 2,382 units. Hyundai's Nexo model, the only available consumer hydrogen model in South Korea, may contribute to weak sales due to unresolved infrastructure issues.
