NHTSA investigates Zoox's self-driving system after rear-end crashes involving autonomous vehicles.

The NHTSA is investigating Amazon's self-driving robotaxi unit, Zoox, after two autonomous vehicles were rear-ended, causing minor injuries to motorcyclists. The agency will evaluate Zoox's automated driving system's performance in relation to crosswalks and pedestrians, as well as its certification of meeting federal safety standards for motor vehicles. This follows an investigation initiated in March 2022.
