Malaysia's construction sector experienced a 14.2% year-on-year growth to RM36.8bn in Q1 2024, led by a 24.7% increase in civil engineering. The special trades activities and residential building sub-sectors also saw double-digit growth. The private sector drove the expansion, increasing 10.1% from Q4 2023. Selangor, Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan accounted for almost 58.4% of work done value.
