Federal government boosts funding for Queensland's Sunshine Coast rail line by $1.15bn, bringing total to $2.75bn. First stage of the $5.5bn project will cover 19km from Beerwah to Caloundra, with construction due to start in 2026. The project aims to improve transport connectivity in the region and is expected to be completed in time for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.
