Conservative and Labour MPs' inquiry reveals poor UK maternity care, recommending a maternity commissioner to address postcode lottery issues.

A parliamentary inquiry led by Conservative MP Theo Clarke and Labour MP Rosie Duffield found poor maternity care to be the norm in the UK, with women being treated as an inconvenience. The inquiry's report, due to be published, recommends a maternity commissioner reporting directly to the Prime Minister to address postcode lottery issues in maternity services. Health Secretary Victoria Atkins also shared her personal experience of subpar NHS care.
