79-year-old Ron Ellis, a former Toronto Maple Leafs forward known for his 1,000+ games and participation in Canada's 1972 Summit Series, has passed away. Ellis spent his entire 15-season NHL career with the Maple Leafs, accumulating 640 points (332 goals, 308 assists) and being a member of the last team to win the Stanley Cup in 1967. Ellis also played for Canada in the 1977 World Hockey Championship after his NHL retirement.
