19-year-old Nigerian athlete Ella Onojuvwevwo has qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics in the women's 400m, breaking the school's 27-year record with a time of 50.57 seconds, beating the Olympic qualifying standard of 51.00 seconds. This is the fastest time by any Nigerian woman since Falilat Ogunkoya's 2001 performance, and makes her the eighth Nigerian athlete to automatically qualify for the Olympics.
