65-year-old Desi Jones, a renowned Jamaican drummer known for his work with bands Chalice and Skool, has passed away. Jones, who began his career under Sonny Bradshaw, also authored the world's first instructional book on reggae drumming in 1983. He worked with numerous Jamaican music icons and was awarded the Order of Distinction in the Rank of Officer (OD) in 2019 for his contributions to the development of Jamaican music.
