Yale's robotic turtle, ART, is set to document marine life off the coast of Connecticut. The amphibious robot, about the size of a large backpack, is autonomous and capable of rudimentary independent movement. Its design allows it to scan and document coastal waters and shorelines without disturbing wildlife. The team behind ART drew inspiration from animals that thrive in both land and water environments.
