8 residents, a dog, and a cat were evacuated from their homes in Murfreesboro due to a 4-inch gas line rupture caused by construction workers using an excavator on Thompson Lane. No injuries were reported. Atmos Energy crews stopped the leak, and Thompson Lane was closed. The Heart of Tennessee Chapter of the American Red Cross set up a shelter at First Baptist Church on East Main Street for displaced residents.
