Nepal's Supreme Court ruled the previous government's transfer of 344 bighas of land under Giri Bandhu Tea Estate as 'unjust, immature, and against loan conditions'. Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah praised the ruling and called for the previous government to be held accountable. The court set new land-swapping criteria for commercial entities, with the 51 bigha of excess land from the tea estate to be placed under state authority.
