Chinese researchers have discovered a critically endangered species of China rose, Rosa lucidissima, in southwest China's Guizhou Province. The plant was found during a field survey at the Foding Mountain nature reserve in Shiqian County, at an altitude of about 700 meters. As an endemic Chinese species, its wild population is extremely rare, and it appears on China's red list of biodiversity as a critically endangered species.
