China's fruit imports from Mekong River countries reached $10.68bn in 2023, accounting for almost 60% of China's total imports. According to the Lancang-Mekong Fruit Industry Development Workshop, popular imports include durians, mangoes, and bananas, with China also exporting its own fruits such as dates, persimmons, and pears. The growth in trade is attributed to the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
