Austrian skydivers Marco Furst and Marco Waltenspiel completed the world's first wingsuit flight through London's Tower Bridge on 16 August. They jumped from a helicopter at 3,000 feet, dived to 35 metres above the River Thames, completed a 'flare' maneuver to rise to 80 metres, then opened their parachutes to land safely. The 45-second flight covered 1.2 kilometres at 246 km/h.
