20-year-old Nigerian student, Michael Arinze, was acquitted and discharged by a court in Anambra State after facing charges of raping three young women and armed robbery. Arinze, a Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University student, pleaded not guilty and had been in custody for 21 months. The court found the witness testimonies and prosecutory evidence inconsistent and did not prove Arinze's guilt beyond reasonable doubt.
