University of Texas lecturer Richard Heyman arrested, charged, and fired for participating in pro-Palestinian protest.
A University of Texas at Austin lecturer was arrested, charged with interfering with public duties, and subsequently fired after participating in a pro-Palestinian demonstration on campus. Richard Heyman, who taught at UT for 18 years, was arrested by the Texas Department of Public Safety and charged with a Class B misdemeanor for his involvement in the April 29 pro-Palestinian protest. The university fired Heyman after his arrest.
