Topeka's City Council is set to approve Dr. Robert Perez, currently the assistant city manager of infrastructure for Dallas, as the new city manager on May 14. He will replace former city manager Stephen Wade who was fired in 2018 for an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate. Perez's contract includes a base salary of $255,000 for a one-year term, with a start date between late June and early July.
