NSW to apologize to individuals convicted under homosexuality laws on 40th anniversary of decriminalization.

New South Wales (NSW) will formally apologize to individuals convicted under laws criminalizing homosexuality, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of decriminalizing homosexuality in the state. This will make NSW the last Australian state to issue an apology after other states did so last decade. Premier Chris Minns acknowledged that words cannot remedy the discrimination faced by those affected but hopes the apology brings some closure.
