A non-student entered DeSoto High School with a gun on Thursday, after being let in by another student amidst an altercation. The district has since announced security changes, including a ban on backpacks, to prevent further incidents. Campus security was informed about the intruder before contacting the suspect, but the weapon was never brandished or fired. The district is working with DeSoto police on potential charges.
