Crawfish farmers in Louisiana will receive federal assistance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a result of extreme heat and drought in 2023. Following requests from local Congressmen and the state Governor, the USDA has included crawfish farmers in the Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honey Bees, and Farm-raised Fish Program, also known as ELAP, providing much-needed relief for the affected industry.
