17 out of 27 companies approved under India's IT hardware PLI scheme are expected to commence production this year, according to the Ministry of Electronics and IT Secretary. Last year, six to seven companies started production, with two more planning to begin next year. The PLI scheme aims to boost domestic manufacturing and increase India's share in the global IT hardware market.
