Enfield, Connecticut's Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved a 168-unit housing complex, Maplewood Village Apartments, despite local residents' concerns about property values, wildlife, and existing housing supply. The complex, consisting of seven three-story buildings with market-rate rental units, will be built on 32 acres near the Interstate 91 corridor. Opponents also raised concerns about attracting low-income renters and potential crime.
