Cheryl McCartie and Theo van Brecht, owners of a dairy farm in Ringarooma, Tasmania, have been awarded the NRM North Dairy Environmental Award for their commitment to sustainability. The couple, originally from New Zealand, have focused on protecting and enhancing the natural assets on their farm, managing waterways and wildlife. They were recognized for their efforts at the Tasmanian Dairy Awards on March 22.
