Arm Holdings, a SoftBank Group subsidiary, plans to develop AI chips, aiming to launch the first products in 2025, according to Nikkei Asia. The UK-based company will set up an AI chip division, with a prototype expected by spring 2025 and mass production starting later in the year. SoftBank will contribute to initial development costs, and the AI chip business could potentially be spun off and placed under SoftBank once mass production is established.
