75-year-old Piran Ditta Khan, the mastermind behind an armed robbery that resulted in PC Sharon Beshenivsky's murder in 2005, has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 40 years. Khan was the last member of the seven-person gang to be convicted after spending almost 15 years on the run. PC Beshenivsky was killed on her daughter's fourth birthday while interrupting a robbery at a travel agency in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
