36-year-old Florence man Howard Washington was arrested and charged with attempted murder, assault with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and financial transaction card theft. Washington allegedly attempted to sexually assault and strangle a victim, causing them to lose consciousness, and stole their debit card. He is being held without bond in the Florence County Detention Center.
