Summerville police arrested Perryon Shamar Ontario Jones on May 9 on charges of homicide by child abuse, following the January death of his 2-month-old infant. After responding to a call about an unresponsive infant not breathing, investigators discovered the child's cause of death as suspicious, not natural. Jones is lodged at the Dorchester County Detention Center and awaits a bond hearing.
