Renew Home, North America's largest residential virtual power plant, has been formed by combining Google's Nest Renew service and OhmConnect. The $100M invested majority owner, Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners, aims to help stabilize the grid and reduce home energy costs. Renew Home plans to enable millions of homes across the US to collectively reduce and shift energy use, working with Google Nest, Rheem, LG, Honeywell, SunPower, and Sense to support demand response and virtual power plant (VPP) programs with over 100 utilities.
