Ontario's electricity system operator secures more natural gas and battery storage to meet the province's electricity needs until the 2030s, as it faces surging demand. This includes 1,784 MW of battery storage projects and 411 MW of natural gas and biogas facilities. The procurements come after a previous round of securing new generation, which, along with this announcement, ensures sufficient electricity supply for the rest of this decade.
