Nebraska's World War II Veteran Recognition Program opens applications to honor living veterans in 2025 for the 80th anniversary of the war's end. Governor Jim Pillen and the Nebraska Department of Veterans' Affairs launched the initiative, with a medal available for veterans who served in the US Armed Forces between Dec 1, 1941, and Dec 31, 1946, and are legal residents of Nebraska.
