United States Mint opens sales for Maine's American Innovation $1 Coin on May 16. The third coin in 2024, featuring reverse (tails) design recognizing Maine's innovation, will be available in rolls and bags from Philadelphia and Denver facilities. The coin honors Lithuanian-American cardiologist and inventor Dr. Bernard Lown, the original developer of the direct current defibrillator for cardiac resuscitation.
