Manhattan Mayor Winfried Butler resigned after being arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) and crashing into a liquor store. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday at around 8:30pm, resulted in the mayor's vehicle striking Candlewood Liquor in the 3200 block of Kimball Avenue. The total estimated loss due to the accident exceeds $1,000. Mayor Pro Tem Susan Adamchak will now assume the role of mayor.
