High Court adjourns Meta's €265m fine challenge until EU court decision in related case.
The High Court has ordered that Meta's €265m fine challenge should be adjourned until a decision in a related case is given by an EU court. Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd has brought a statutory appeal over the fines the Data Protection Commission (DPC) imposed for breach of EU privacy rules regarding personal information of over 500 million Facebook users. The High Court noted that the €265m fine was not legally effective until another EU appeal by WhatsApp was complete.
