Ghanaian security agencies arrested two men, Abdul Latif Abubakar (22) and Mahammudu Araafat Yasir (24), for involvement in a WhatsApp fraud scheme. The arrests in Langbensi and Gambaga followed a report from a US-based Ghanaian who fell victim to WhatsApp Account Takeover, a cyber fraud method. The suspects gained unauthorized access to accounts, manipulated verification codes, and solicited funds, causing over GH₵200,000 in losses.
