Former MEG Energy CEO, Derek Evans, has been appointed as the new executive chair of Pathways Alliance, a consortium of Canada's largest oil sands companies (Suncor Energy Inc., Canadian Natural Resources Ltd., Cenovus Energy Inc., Imperial Oil Ltd., MEG Energy Corp., and ConocoPhillips Canada). Under Evans' leadership, the group aims to build a $16.5B carbon capture and storage network in northern Alberta and reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
