2023: Volunteers counted 888 bats at 274 maternity roost sites in British Columbia (B.C.). From June 1, bat biologists and volunteers help count bats at maternity roosts during sunset, as female bats roost together in summer to raise their young in maternity colonies. Each year, volunteers collect data that helps track bat populations and conservation efforts in B.C.
