Turkey's Competition Authority fined Meta Platforms (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Threads) 1.2 billion lira ($37.2m) for data-sharing investigations related to potential competition law violations. The authority halted data sharing between Threads and Instagram in March and Meta suspended Threads in Turkey. Users may now merge data with their consent, and be informed about data usage.
