Philadelphia CBP officers seized 10,060 Xanax pills, worth $30,000, hidden in spools of yarn in a shipment from the Netherlands to Brooklyn. The pills, a scheduled IV controlled substance, were concealed within the yarn and were discovered by trade enforcement experts at the Baltimore Field Office. Alprazolam, the active ingredient in Xanax, is commonly prescribed for anxiety and panic disorders, but also misused recreationally.
