NY State Department of Health declares flu no longer widespread, rescinds mask mandate for unvaccinated healthcare workers. The mandate, in place since Dec 6, applied to hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities during the 2023-24 flu season, which saw 395,522 cases and 25,182 hospitalizations. State Health Commissioner Dr. James McDonald advises appropriate precautions, such as staying home if sick.
