The Maine Maritime Academy's training ship, State of Maine, completed its final voyage after nearly 30 years of service, embarking on a 74-day training trip around the northern Atlantic Ocean. The ship will be replaced by a larger, $320 million training vessel currently under construction in Philadelphia. The new ship will be owned by the federal Maritime Administration while being used by the academy.
