IMF reaches staff-level agreement with DRC for final review of $1.5bn loan program.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has reached a staff-level agreement with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on the final review of a $1.5 billion loan program. DRC is one step closer to completing an IMF program for the first time. With the end of the current program, prudent economic policies remain warranted. Once approved by the IMF board, the agreement will allow for the disbursement of a final tranche of around $200 million.
