Watchdog group Power for People Coalition supports ERC's appeal to the Supreme Court against CA's ruling allowing San Miguel Corporation's power units to cancel fixed-rate power supply deals with Meralco. P4P convenor Gerry Arances states that ERC's move protects consumers from SMC profiting from rising coal and gas prices. The SC's ruling is expected to determine if SMC must abide by its contract and not raise electricity prices.
