Elon Musk's AI startup, X.AI Corp (maker of AI chatbot Grok), is reportedly close to securing a $18B valuation for a funding round, potentially closing this week. The funding round size is not finalized, and includes investors such as Sequoia Capital. X.AI aims to compete with OpenAI in the AI chatbot market, and requires high-quality data from X, Musk's social network, to build large language models.
